Is there anything more ridiculous than humans in love? This is a question Fanny, an alternative therapist, finds herself pondering after coming to the conclusion that she doesn’t need love and is happy with her self-sufficient life of independence.
However, as time goes on, she begins to realise she might have been too hasty as she finds herself navigating grief, fear, persecution and the promise of romance.
Fond Pageant is a unique and creative novel, which plays with both tragedy and humour, exploring the idiosyncratic nature of love and all its foibles. The title is inspired by the words of the mischievous Puck in Shakespeare’s classic romantic comedy A Midsummer Night’s Dream.
Will Fanny get through her trials of endurance and experience real and lasting love for herself? And is a reunion with the handsome Greek Dionysius, who has loved her with utter devotion from their first encounter, on the cards?
